Forest Camp

Background

Camp Explore's Forest Camp can be found in the Mount Purro Nature Reserve, which is nestled at the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountain ranges and part of the Marikina Watershed. It helps provide the water in Metro Manila and purifies the air we breathe through the trees that we plant and maintain

One of our main goals and advocacies for our camps is for our campers to appreciate the beauty and benefits of nature through first-hand experiences. We believe that if they learn to appreciate nature, they would be interested to learn more about it and do something to show their care and concern for it-especially because taking care of the environment can positively impact the earth's future!

Program Information

The FOREST CAMP for the SUMMER PROGRAM is the first level of camp. Although it's not a pre-requisite, we highly recommend that campers go through the FOREST CAMP first before any other program. Campers are grouped into tribes/teams and they will follow a schedule each day (see list of activities below). We have campers who are shy, scared of being away from home, hyper, excited, repeat campers, etc who start as strangers but develop into becoming friends for life!

Campers will stay in cozy cottages and cabins (please click here for pictures). Safety of our campers is our number one priority. Apart from Camp Explore's 24-hour security, our competent and qualified counselors have gone through extensive first aid training and practice. Our counselors are also highly trained professionals who have been working with children for at least 3 years. (If you wish to know more about the Camp Explore team, please click here) We maintain a ratio of at least 1 counselor to 7 campers throughout the camp.

I loved it. What's next?

Within the FOREST CAMP program there are also several levels, so that there is always something new to learn and treasure! We have campers who have started with us when they were in grade school, and now they're in college and work as our junior masters!
