Policies

  1. We believe in non-violent action. We strive to encourage and exemplify this value with our campers. When campers misbehave and have the tendency, intentions and/or actions to repeatedly hurt themselves and/or others and property of Camp, Camp Explore shall:

    Give the camper/s 3 warnings :

    • 1st warning: tribe master or camp staff will talk to the camper/s, give warning and write incident report
    • 2nd warning: tribe master or camp staff will talk to the camper/s, give warning, write incident report, and call parent/guardian
    • 3rd warning: tribe master or camp staff will isolate camper from camp, write incident report, call parents/guardian to pick up camper

However, if action puts anyone/thing in grave danger, camper will be sent home immediately.

  2. Homesickness – Regardless of age and gender, campers adjust differently with being separated from home. We strive our best to make our campers overcome their homesickness. We believe that this will help their formation in building their confidence, independence and strength of character. Thus, we:

    • Course all messages and communication through camp hotline number/s
    • Call parents / guardian to inform them that their child is homesick; however, we do not allow them to speak to each other. But, if on the second day (after lunch)camper/s are still miserable despite best efforts to enjoy themselves, then, we allow them to speak with each other and make a decision whether to come home or not.
    • Last day for campers to go home due to homesickness is after breakfast of the third day; otherwise, we recommend they finish the whole camp.

  3. Medical Emergency -We have First Aid certified staff, Camp doctor, and a mobile clinic that can serve as an ambulance at camp. However, if further medical assistance is necessary, we:

    • Call the Emergency Contact Person identified in the Registration Form
    • Depending on the case,
      • San Juan Bautista Hospital in Lian
      • Nasugbu Doctor Hospital
      • Memorial Hospital in Nasugbu
      • About 11 kms away or 20 minutes travel time.
      • coordinate with parents where to bring patient

  4. Family Emergency/Matters- Pls. call the assigned Camp Hotline.
