Beach Camp

Background

Since 2005, Camp Explore held our Beach Camp at the serene compound of Maan Hontiveros in Matuod, Batangas. Through our partnership with the Bro. Alfred Shields, FSC Marine Station (formerly DLSU Marine Station), headed by Dr. Al Licuanan, we were trained to know more about our marine ecosystem and how to better care for it. For 2009, we explore the pristine location of CAMAYA COAST in Mariveles, Bataan as our official site for our BEACH CAMP!

Program Information

Our campsite in Camaya Coast is located right at the beachfront with sprawling white sand and clear, blue waters. It is a very safe site especially for kids since the water is very calm throughout the day with shallow and even sandbars and shores.

We take camping seriously! Campers will be sleeping in COLEMAN tents, under the clear, star-filled skies of the Cove. However, there are comfortable and clean bathrooms and shower facilities to make the experience not too far from our comfort zones.

Safety of our campers is our number one priority. Apart from 24-hour security, our competent and qualified counselors have gone through extensive first aid training and practice. Our counselors are also highly trained professionals who have been working with children for at least 3 years. (If you wish to know more about the Camp Explore team, please click here) We maintain a ratio of at least 1 counselor to 7 campers throughout the camp.

Campers will enjoy the BEACH CAMP just as much as they did at the FOREST CAMP! This time, with the addition of the water element, camp isn't just fun, but it's-literally and figuratively-really COOL! It's the perfect way to spend those hot summer days!

Campers will enjoy the wide variety of activities included in the program:

    Tribe games
    Teambuilding games

    Picnic at the waterfalls
    Swimming
    Kayaking

    Basic snorkeling
    Adventure race
    Exposure to the marine ecosystem (including mangroves, sea grass, corals, and more)
    Adventure race in the beach
    Ropes courses
    Arts and crafts...and more!

Age Groups and Schedules

Two types of beach camp programs will be offered this SUMMER 2009:
1) Pre-teens/Teens: 10-18 years old
